Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles…what child can resist them? I challenge you to find a child who can resist popping a bubble. Our house is no different, my children adore blowing them, popping them, chasing them and of course the bigger they are the better.
I have seen many people make bubble snakes on pinterest for some time now, so considering our love for bubbles, I thought it was about time we had a try.
- A drinking bottle
- A sock
- A rubber band
- Bubble mixture or water and washing up liquid
Making bubble snakes:
- Cut the end off the bottle
- Place the sock over the bottle, over the cut end
- Place a rubber band around it to help keep it in place
- Pour the bubble mixture or a washing up liquid and water mixture into a shallow dish
- Place the sock end of the bottle into the bubble mixture
It really is very easy to make. Once your snake bottle is made, get blowing.
We had competitions to see who could make the longest snake. I’m not sure who won, as they were all pretty good. The children ran around the garden chasing the bubbles that had blown away, then they chased each other with them. There were giggles and laughter, squeals of delight when they managed a long one.
They blew the bubbles into their hands and on the table to see how big a bubble mountain they could make. It was so much fun. In fact I must confess, I even had to have a go myself.
Some bubbles were just like bubble bath and they even made bubble faces with them.
I would recommend you attempt this on a day when there is very little wind, otherwise, your bubbles just blow away before they get very long.
Give it a try, I challenge you to resist having a go yourself.
